A wall-mounted sponge organizer designed to store a full pack of six sponges and dispense them one by one over time. Taken from concept through production preparation.
Starting point: sponges pile up wet and messy on the sink edge, the original packaging tears open completely, bacteria breed, the material never fully dries, and there is no clear separation between a fresh sponge and a used one. Only one compartment for everything.
The organizer is a gravity-fed dispenser that holds six sponges in a vertical stack. A separated lower tray isolates the wet, used sponge from the dry stack above. It mounts via an adhesive magnet or two screws, keeping placement flexible in the kitchen.
Construction: a single laser-cut, bent and welded metal sheet. Early sketches explore the base structure and the separation between dry stack and wet tray, testing an open-channel form and resolving the two-tier base and the back panel with mounting points.
CMF: brushed aluminium sheet. The brushed finish suits users who want their everyday objects intentional, not only functional.
